Hi Everyone - just want to mention, Oatie is having another bout with Clostridium. This is a bacteria that lives everywhere - grass, leaves, sticks, mud, puddles etc. It destroys the lining of the gut, water and plasma leak into the gut and the dog de-hydrates. Symptoms are vomiting, diarrhea, then bloody diarrhea. Its treatable with anti-biotics, but if you dont get on it, it can kill. Oatie seems particularly susceptible, so, after the medications I will give her canine pro-biotics, hopefully to strengthen her intestinal flora. Please share any other ideas. And do be careful out there.
