Hi Everyone, I spoke with Mr. Turko at Sons of Italy Hall. The cost to rent the hall is $1000.00 and it seats 220 and they have an amazing kitchen. I called Tracy in Omaha, she had some suggestions, concerning the Embassy Suites. They are located directly across from the Old Market on 10th St., this is also where the Festival is currently located. I will call and speak with their event director tomorrow. Maybe, since there would be many coming in from out of state, I could secure a reduced lodging fees, and we would be able to have use of 1/2 of a ballroom? It is also very close to Epply Airport, they have a shuttle service, and it is very close to so many things in the old neighborhood. The Zoo, Botanical Gardens, which is on the back of Grandma Louises old land, that we all called the acreage growing up. Tracy has a few connections with locations close by, an Art Gallery that is very eclectic and a bar, which has a stage and out door area. This location is owned by relatives. I was thinking we could have an initial gathering and food and then another gathering at the Art Gallery or the bar with a more laid back vibe? Please let me know everyones thoughts on this? Tracy will follow up with making the personal contacts needed to get things organized.
