Hi Everyone, On behalf of the Executive Committee, I would like to wish you all a warm welcome to the V.C.S.A. Philanthropy Club. Thank you your support and making us one of the VCSA’s largest member based club! As you all know, the V.C.S.A. P.C. is club in which Vanier College students unite as one in order to help make a difference within the community as well as on an international scale. As members, we strive to bring awareness to societal injustices within and around the community as well as assist in improving human welfare. Many exciting events are coming up within the next few weeks such as: -Bake sale fundraiser (Mid-October) -Light the Night walk for Leukemia (October 18th) -Meet and Greet with patients at the Jewish General (End of November) -Soup Kitchen at the Welcome Hall Mission Homeless Shelter (Late November/ Early December) -Awareness campaigns on the abuse of human rights (Throughout the semester) -Pie your teacher fundraiser (Mid-December) -Music Concert and Christmas Carol and the Saint-Andrew Residence Centre and Nursing Home (End of December) Moreover, throughout the semester we encourage musically inclined Vanier College students to volunteer at CSSS residence centres. Not only is this a perfect way to get in some practice in front of a forgiving audience, it’s a great way to brighten the day of many seniors! For more information on volunteering opportunities, please contact us directly through MIO, Facebook or by stopping by the club room D-112, located in the Asian Caf. If you are interested in participating at some of the listed events, please MIO me or another executive member (list of names and student IDs are bellow) or stop by the club room and let us know. The more volunteers, the better our chances are of making a difference! In addition, for those who do participate, the VCPC does offer STAR hours! Every effort, no matter how big or small, makes a difference. We will be having meeting periodically throughout the semester for members who are interested in taking on a more hands on approach. A MIO will be sent out a few days in advanced with the location and time of the meeting.
