Hi Facebook friends, I don’t know about you, but I love buying the Christmas edition of the RTE Guide and planning my Christmas viewing . I don’t get it during the year but love the Christmas one. I was reading through it last night and their looks to be a really interesting new program set to run every night over Christmas week. It’s called “celebs go to the symphony”. It’s a reality based show in which well know Irish people are given 3 months to practice on an instrument of their choice and then preform in the National concert hall with the full RTE orchestra. I see that Bertie is going to be playing the Violin and is installed as favourite, as even though he has never played the Violin and his knowledge is of classical music is by his own admission, “limited to say the least” . He has been on the fiddle for the last 40 years and his teacher was perhaps Ireland’s greatest fiddler the late Charles Haughey. A spokesperson for the FF party, said they were proud of the musical prowess of their party members and that from county Councillors to TD’s and ex ministers the party had a proud tradition of producing some of Irelands greatest fiddlers
