Hi Folks For more than twenty years my people the Gamilaraay of the Balonne River region of South West Qld (St George) have been wanting to return our ancestors human remains and grave goods housed in the Qld Museum, John Tonge and the University of Qld. At the Turn of the century our ancestors were taken from their final resting places without our knowledge and our consent by so called scientists in the name of science. Now they are coming home to their homelands and to their people. On Tuesday 17th September 2013, at 12-00 pm at the Q Museum Corner Plaza, corner of Melbourne and Grey Streets, South Brisbane the Qld Museum will officially hand back our old ones to Gamilaraay people. A traditional ceremony will be conducted by the Turrbal and Jagera tribes to give us free passage through their homelands of the greater Brisbane River region. The Gamilaraay people wish to invite all our friends and extended family members to be with us to witness this momentous and historical ceremony. bob weatherall
