Hi Folks: I haven’t sent any inspirational quotes since last Sunday and may not be sending any for a little while longer. Last Monday, while cutting the grass, I experienced chest pains and shortness of breath. Shortly after the paramedics loaded me into the ambulance I went into full cardiac arrest; they "paddled" me and my heart started "quivering", they " paddled” me again and my heart started beating at a very rapid rate. I was brought to the Cardiac Catheterization lab at the hospital for an angiogram to determine if there was any blockage and/or additional heart damage. (I have had a number of other heart challenges over the years which damaged my heart.) I was placed in a heavily sedated state in ICU for 24 hours and then slowly taken out. Lots of things happened as I was taken out of the sedated state and the rest of the week. I had the Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator put in Thursday morning. Here is a link to information on it. medtronic/patients/tachycardia/device/what-is-it/index.htm When the doctors did the angiogram on Monday, to see if there was any additional damage to the heart or any serious blockage, they noticed a section that they had taken pictures of that they weren’t certain if it was just artifacts, an unclear picture, or it there was blockage. I was released from the hospital Friday afternoon; I am returning to the hospital on Tuesday for another angiogram to determine what exactly is there. Please join in praying with me, Barb and Lisa that it is only artifact; if it is blockage they will need to put in a stint.
