Hi Folks, It’s that time of year again. Broadway Bares is upon us. First let me thank you all for all your help the past couple of years with this project. This one night show has raised millions of dollars for people in our industry in need. Broadway Cares is an outstanding organization that provides amazing support for everyone in our crazy industry. They are a charity that actually spends a lot of their money helping other charities in need. They sent some very big checks to Sandy Relief in L.I and N.J. The people in charge of Broadway Cares are an amazing group. Their tireless work ethic and humbleness inspire me every year. The past few years with your help putting the show up we have never had to have a volunteer work around the clock, which was commonplace before all of you came with your expertise, great work experience, and lets get it done attitude. We hope to continue that this year. The Broadway Cares organization has been blown away by all of your support for this event. Jerry Mitchell the producer/director of past shows has said that since we all came on board the feeling of “The Broadway Family” has been completed! He can’t begin to thank us enough for all of the great work and atmosphere that we have provided. Jerry has been an outspoken advocate for us to management for many years. He is always praising our collective skilled labor. Jerry does shows all over the world and always says that no one can produce his visions onstage like the guys in New York! Last year we had a lot of newcomers help us out last year and it made all the difference! I am hoping to get a big turnout this year as the event takes place the weekend after Fathers Day. Again thank you so much for all of your support and hard work the past ten years. Our Broadway Family makes this a must see event. The dedication of all involved from the supportive Producers, the tireless cast and choreographers, the blow your mind wardrobe department to the crews of volunteers in all departments and the community support with non stop donated food and drinks is really something everyone should experience. Come help us out this year and I’m sure you’ll be back every year. Please take a look at the schedule below and try to make a little time to help this great cause. Broadway Cares is “all of our” lifeline. They are there for us in times of need. They make sure that the people in our industry who have fallen on tough times through sickness, old age or financial problems have someone to call. They treat you like the Family that we all are. The schedule this year is: Shop Prep We will be at PRG lighting from Tuesday June 18 through Thursday June 20 prepping the gear. All are welcome. Friday June 21th 8 a.m- 6 p.m Pre-Rig, Pre-Hang Electrics. Broadway Cares will provide pizza and soda at 5:30 for all who have to make shows. Since we started this pre- hang we’ve got a tremendous amount of people there and got a lot done. This has turned into “the Big Day” for us. Anyone with rigging and experience would also be helpful during this call. Saturday June 22 8.am -12:00p.m Four hours of great fun before people run off for their shows. Hang Electrics and Sound. Start build of set. This in the past has always been an incredible four hours, you have to experience it to believe it. We get a lot done and we have a ton of fun. If you can come by in the morning before your matinees it would be great. Saturday 1:pm –5:30 Continue to build sets, onstage lighting booms, and rigging. Anyone who doesn’t have a show that could stay for any of this time would be appreciated as we lose a lot of the group to matinees. Anyone who can come back between shows to check in would help. Saturday 6: pm –midnight. Continue teching and working. Sunday 8:am -1:00 Moving light fixes, rehearsals. Will take anyone we can get. Sunday 2: pm- midnight Two shows, rehearsals and lighting. Tickets for this event will be given out to those who volunteer for any of the calls. Monday 8 or 9 am Load out. Anyone that can get there would be great. We are usually done by 3 or 4 pm. If we can get more people this year we could be done by lunch. This is the one day we don’t see many people as it is our day off from the shows. If anyone can come by even for three to four hours it would help a lot. This is the tentative schedule. If you can make any of these times please email Jimmy Fedigan JamesFedigan@mac cell 914-456-6188 Randy Zaibek Rtzaibek@mac Dan Coey DCoey@mac Thank you all again for any help you can give this show. It truly is a great cause and something to see, the way our “family” comes together to pull this off. Jerry is hoping to break One Million again this year All the Best, Jimmy, Randy and Dan Coey
