Hi Folks, We have only gained 5 more “LIKES” since I proposed our TURKEY CHALLENGE...what’s up with that? C’mon gang, only 3 days left! Let’s beat 100! As I’ve mentioned many times before, fall is a very busy time for our chapter. It is really neat to see the funds roll in from those of you who have been helping out in our Appeal Drive Campaign. The Appeal Drive is by far our EASIEST fundraiser. It’s not too late; we run this one right up to the end of the year because lots of folks contact their people over the holiday season. Feel free to JUMP IN!!! We got a reply from one of our faithful members in Prior Lake that apologized for not taking part in the Appeal Drive this year because she has cancer. Apologize? No apology was needed...we felt so bad to hear of this truly sad news. Our prayers and thoughts are with her and her family as they go through this difficult time. We also learned that our very dear supporter Helen Bealka passed away a few months back. At 86 Helen and a friend of hers were very active collecting items and making up baskets for our spring golf tournament throughout the year. This lady was a true dynamo in my book and will be sadly missed. Her family has learned well from her and we receive their help from numerous family members on this event- a real family affair! Getting everyone involved, doing what they can, leaves no one having to bust their backs trying to make something happen. This is the secret to fundraising my friends. May her memory be eternal. A huge thank you for a generous gift that was donated to the Spinal Cord Society- Twin Cities Chapter on behalf of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Minnesota Foundation. This was possible because a long time donor retired from a life career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota recently. What a grand way to end a stellar career. Our wishes for many happy days ahead.
