Hi Friends, In my last letter, I have finished with a comment that I would deal with Meerut visit, wage Revision and the importance of PSEs. But, I encountered an interesting episode in the industry, so I thought of harp on that which goes as follows: Yesterday, we launched PMs JANDHAN SCHEME which was branded by ET as BLOCKBUSTER START and every one should accept that it was a big ticket launch that we could open 1.5 crore accounts and the success of which has motivated the Honourable PM to announce to reduce the time to 5 months to open 7.5 crores accounts which we are going to certainly accomplish. After six months of satisfactory dealings, all the account holders will get eligibility to get Rs.5000 overdraft facility which may result in the deployment of Rs.37500 crores by the Indian PSBs. Honourable Prime Minister invoked his right to address 7.50 lac bank men and women through mail. Mission was mammoth and as all claimed it has got a Vision too. But who has to execute such great visionary mission? Natural response is that it has to be accomplished by the dedicated MEN AND WOMEN BELONG TO PSB. AND WE DID IT TOO, WE OPTLY RESPONDED TO THE CALL GIVEN BY THE HONOURABLE PRIME MINISTER OF THE COUNTRY. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SOME UNACCOMPLISHED PENDING DEMANDS OF THE PSBS MEN AND WOMEN? About 6 lac bank employees are going to retire in five years and the PSBs have to recruit that many number of the workforce, if not more, within a period of five years. As it is a financial industry, the banks should be able to attract the Indian talented youth to join and remain in the banking system, otherwise there would be a danger of PSBs become extinct. Thus to attract such young force, is it not the responsibility of the Govt. to implement pending wage settlement immediately with good monetary and non monetary packages? Friends, time became ripe that our Honble PMs attention is diverted towards Banking sector and thus we should plunge in to action immediately. ACTION POINTS 1. We, all shall reply to PMs mail. 2. We shall pledge ourselves to continue to be the part of NATION BUILDING. 3. We shall demand for immediate wage settlement. 4. We shall demand for the minimum initial basic of Rs.30000 to Bank officers. 5. We shall demand for running pay scale up to Scale VII. 6. We shall demand for updating of pension and family pension. 7. We shall demand for maintaining the identity of Public sector. 8. We shall demand for good health coverage. 9. We shall demand for constructing hospitals exclusively for bank employees on the lines with ESI. 10. We shall demand for running crèches throughout the country. Let us ensure 7.50 lacs mails reaching the Honourable PM as response to his mails.
