Hi Gilbert, I have to say that I am happy to have found a job - TopicsExpress

Hi Gilbert, I have to say that I am happy to have found a job now. Just started work on Monday yesterday and found the work is a giant challenge ahead. Ill be as brief as possible here. After talking to the accountant executive who gave me an orientation about the company, I learned that he is set on hiring Malaysians and PRC for the manpower shortage at the company. It was rather awkward as my position is more senior than him. He is Malaysian himself and was tasked by the boss (he is almost the only employee) to seek out manpower. I was immediately very furious on why not our local first (of course I was very calm). I told him that I would immediately quit should the company be all foreigners. This would be illegal and moreover defeats my willingness to take a challenging pay for the very demanding job scope. In fact I would be undertaking more than my work nature that is in rebranding and developing the image of the company. He claims that no locals have applied for the past advertisements he has posted. He also made an ad post in Chinese newspaper in Malaysia and asking current foreign hires to seek out their foreign relatives and friends that may be interested in working here. Thus, I would like come to your pool of local connection first to seek out those interested in the following: 1 storeman 1 driver for delivery 1-2 technician 4-5 sales executives 1 adhoc IT guy to our company website n ecommerce and configure our systems. To be able to start asap if possible. I shall do my best to do volunteer myself to do first interviews that would be passed on to boss for selection. I am doing this to take this task off the accountant and to give my support to our locals in need first. Should you think this may be of interest, please let me know so that I can post more details. Otherwise, I shall post over these positions on the other job portals. Regards Simon
