Hi Guys, As most of you already know I work for Westpac and specialise in a few different areas of banking, including insurance . Before I go in to anything I want to make it clear that I am not trying to sell anything or rip you off, so would appreciate a little bit of seriousness as I’ve just had a discussion that will hit fairly close to home. A lot of you are starting to buy or build houses, or are out of home paying rent and various other expenses – what would you do if you were suddenly injured at work or playing footy on the weekend and became unable to meet these payments?? This week I have been made aware of a young guy of about 25-26 who recently bought a new house, and declined the opportunity to discuss protecting his income with the banker he saw. Some weeks later he had an accident at work and was told he would be off work indefinitely- with no way to make repayments he now faces the very real possibility of having to either sell the house he worked so hard to buy, or rent it out and move back with his parents. I don’t want to see this happening to any of you, so if this is relevant to you or you want to find out information on how you could have your income protected, either drop in to the Westpac Bank at Waurn Ponds, shoot me an email at [email protected] or give me a call on 03 5246 5588. Cheers
