Hi Guys – Good tough day of Test cricket today, hopefully tomorrow we can make early inroads. Mahela told me his plans to retire from test cricket on Sunday…it was an emotional moment. Typical of him to choose his time carefully and to leave early rather than risk hanging on too long. He’s always been the ultimate team man, leading us brilliantly as a captain and always putting the team first. Everyone in the dressing room respects and admires his honesty, integrity, commitment, inner strength and great strategic vision. As a batsman, he’s been phenomenal for Sri Lanka, always unselfish and committed to the needs of the team, and invariably saving his best for when we needed him most. He’s going to be sorely missed. He’s still got plenty of cricket left in him though and all the guys are looking forward to the journey ahead in next few months. I am sure there are going to be some more special innings to savour before he retires. Cheers, Sanga
