Hi! If this is not allowed, please let me know or delete the post! If it is, Thank You! Hello Everyone, I have been looking for work for quite some time. I have applied to all of the major chain stores, chain daycares, fast food places around the Lapeer and Metamora area. Thus far, I have been unsuccessful in landing a position. I am looking to use my degree in early childhood care and education as a preschool assistant teacher, lead teacher or any teaching position in a daycare type facility. I would really love to work in that field but I fear I am having trouble because of my tattoos. I understand tattoos can make people uncomfortable, especially around their children but I am more than qualified for these positions and my tattoos really shouldn’t be causing me this much trouble. None of them are offensive at all, the ones that are visible are a music note, a heart, birds & tree and cupcake/ice cream and lollipop. I am willing to keep them covered but would like to be comfortable and not have to wear long sleeve shirts all the time. If anyone knows of a school, preschool or daycare place that is hiring (that I hopefully haven’t already applied too, and I am calling Little learners in Metamora tomorrow, I seen their ad on craigslist) please let me know! Particularly if you know my tattoos wouldn’t be a problem. I have worked as a server, caregiver, bowling alley waitress, groomer/dog sitter, paper carrier, housekeeper and was a babysitter for years. If all else fails, I also am good with baking/cake decorating, I am a fast typer and am good with computers/customer service (I’ve never had a receptionist job but I know I would ace it). If anyone could lead me in a good direction that would be amazing. In the meantime to make ends meet, I make homemade lotions/body scrubs, way cheaper than fancy store bought kinds and completely chemical, paraben and preservative free. If anyone is interested in buying some, I have a few choices available right now. Mason jar size, I believe 16 ounces and cost is 10.00-15.00 per jar. Thank you for your time! I appreciate it!
