Hi Im hoping that someone out there can help the Grafton Girl Guides work on a service project this year. How can you help? Im looking for any unwanted / no longer needed red and black wool, crocheting/knitting needles, red material, red felt and black buttons and sewing needles. The older Guides 10-17 years will try to learn to crochet /knit one similar to the picture shown, while the younger Guides 5-9 will sew material or felt ones and attach the button. Why? We are participating in The Great Guide Poppy Project which aims to make a poppy for each service man and woman who has died serving their country. They will be placed alongside the name of every service person listed at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. There are over 102,784 names listed :( This is an Australian wide project so Girl Guides from across the nation will be participating. The organisers hope to accomplish this by ANZAC Day 2015, but have extended to the end of this year Thanks in advance Grafton Girl Guides
