Hi, My Great Grandparents Julian Kelly Phelps and Mary M. - TopicsExpress

Hi, My Great Grandparents Julian Kelly Phelps and Mary M. Lamastus, and my Grandparents Oscar Slaughter Phelps and Myrtle Elizabeth Reed were from Woodbury Kentucky. My Grandparents had a farm that bordered the river. My Grandfather Oscar Phelps owned and ran the ferry at the fork where the Green and Barren Rivers Fork. I am looking for forward moving descents of my gg parents. The children where (not in any order of age), Sons, Oscar, born 1882, although he told my grandmother he was only 10 years older then she, instead of the 12 he really was, and some records show his birth as 1884 (my grandfather) James, Enoch, Alfie and daughters Eva, Minnie, Florence, Sallie and Mabel. Great Grand parents were Mark H. Phelps and Elizabeth Reeves. Please contact me if you have any leads on living relatives of this line. Thanks We have a cancer gene called Lynch Syndrome I believe came from my GGrandmother and was passed to us from my grandfather. If you have Lynch Syndrome, each of your children have a 50% chance of having it as well. So, 4 more of my grandfather brothers and sisters probably have it. It is estimated 600,000 people have LS and only 5% know they are at risk. People with Lynch have an 80% chance of colon cancer before age 70 and women have an additional 70% chance of uterine cancer before the same age. If you are a relative, or know one please pass along the information so I can find out if they are aware of the risk. Thanks for you help and thanks Dave for starting this site.
