Hi, My name is Dana, and I am ADDICTED to Advocacy for Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) I support anything that contributes good to the world of CHDs: family and patient support, awareness, policy changes, funding, research. I support it all. I will support all of the above on an individual level, local level, regional level, national level, and a world-wide level. Two of my children are affected by Congenital Heart Defects. While they live each day of their lives with a special heart, not every day of their life is AFFECTED by their heart conditions. We live our lives each day just like so many others out in the world. We have joy in our lives, and we have troubles in our lives, just like anyone else, that have nothing to do with CHD. WHY DO I CHOOSE TO ADVOCATE? Because I can. Because I hope that what I can do now will make a huge difference in the options available to my children in the future. Because doing something helps to keep me sane (contradictory comments NOT appreciated ) Because the people I have met and who work with me show me each and every day that I am not alone.
