Lagging Indicators are a result of reactive HSE analysis that widely used to introduce HSE performances and to notify the robustness of management aspects in place. However, lagging indicators are not sufficient to measure employees’ perception and to demonstrate organizational efforts or leadership commitment to HSE requirement. Leading Indicators are a result of proactive HSE analysis which are the most appropriate way to perform reporting process and to assess HSE performance measurement. Hence, proactive reporting system contributes effectively to explain the attitudes and to establish essential attempts to improve the whole HSE features. All in all, We have to take whole picture of safety (Lagging and Leading Indicators) within any company to know its safety commitment and performance.
