Hi, Through this letter I’m trying to communicate with Chrysler Corporate, because I contacted Costumer Service in Puerto Rico to report an incident with my Jeep Wrangler 2013. I feel that my case is one of security concern and not a warranty case. While I was driving my jeep the steering wheel (without any sign of malfunction) came loose from its original position, leaving me without any control of the vehicle and without airbags. (The video shows the malfunction) Chrysler Costumer Service of Puerto Rico (I have the name of the person that assisted me), told me that they can’t do anything because I didn’t have a car accident. Their response was that if one member of my family or any person in the street died, as a result of the car’s malfunction, they were willing to take my case in consideration. They told me that an accident is a perception not a fact. I feel very disappointed with that answer, I’m a Jeep customer from the past seven years and this is my second brand new Wrangler (2007 and 2013), because these vehicles for me represent SECURITY and not luxuries. After this I contacted Jeep Puerto Rico’s official Facebook page, and they contacted me through the inbox. They told me that an investigation was opened. I requested the investigation number, but they didn’t give to me. To make the story shorter, after my initial contact, within the next 24 hours they lied to me, telling that my unit was repaired and certificated through a road performance testing. Immediately after I went to the dealer (Cabrera Hermanos in Hatillo P.R.) and a representative from the dealer told me that my unit was not repaired and that no person from Chrysler went to the dealer to view the vehicle or investigate what occurred (I have all screenshots of the conversation). Nobody deserves this kind of treatment from customer service. I believe that a case like mine deserves a corporate investigation. I feel that my family’s life was at risk. For some reason this vehicle came damaged from manufacturing, because it has only 31990 miles and a defect of this magnitude was not supposed to occur. No car manufacturing company in the world tells their customers “be careful with our vehicles because they may lose your ability to steer the vehicle, while the car is running no less, at any moment”. I don’t wish for a warranty repair for this malfunction, I don’t trust in that repair. I bought this vehicle because I wished and researched for a vehicle where my family and I are safe. I purchased a Jeep Wrangler to have safety in everywhere, because I trust in the brand, but not in my damaged unit. Contact me through Facebook to give you my personal information. I will be waiting for your help and prompt response in this matter, Rafael Cruz Medina
