Hi all.... I just wanted to drop a little love here to Craig R - TopicsExpress

Hi all.... I just wanted to drop a little love here to Craig R Ninjah for hosting this wonderful event. Ive got to say, being in this scene since 06, and being a former admin at the old hang-music , now handpan.org websites, this vibe is very close to those vibes of old. A refreshed sense of community, unity and harmonic vibes is flowing throughout this beautiful group and beyond. No inane round about conversations about what pan, what maker, what style is better, worse, hard to find or not..... what the bloody instrument is properly called....or any number of conversations that bring at least a little angst to the table. No, here its just about the connection between instrument to player to commonUNITY. I have seen every size, shape and style of both handpan and handpan players....with not one criticism on what pan is being played or how. I have seen people who were normally on the sidelines, or in the shadows....ing out and openly expressing themselves for the community. THAT...... that is the open vibe that used to soley perpetuate the feel of everyone that became involved with these instruments. And this makes me happier than you know. Its a great way to get it back to the basics and show all the new people coming into the community that its not about any of that pretentious b.s...... its about heART...... plain and simple. For me, that was the magic of these instruments. Not how they were made, or who made them or where or any mysticism that somehow became attached to these metal vessels. No, it was the magic of seeing someone who had no musical talent, whatsoever..... making music, their own music, for the very first time. Watching the inspiration well up in their eyes and realization in their smiles that yes, yes indeed they could make music.....beautiful music. Ive seen this instrument open up more hearts, minds, souls and awarenesses than any other singular tool.....ever. Its the accessibility, the intuitive nature , the ease of motion in transition from thought to sound.....the release of ego..... all of it combined to create a perfect storm of love and understanding. And this 60 second challenge, to me, is the culmination of that love, and this community. Nowhere else, in any other community, either tangible or on the interwebz, has such a humble, beautiful and openly giving and loving vibe. Thank you all for participating and re affirming my love for this artform and the people involved. Much love to Craig R Ninjah and to each and every one of YOU, for having the confidence and love to not only be a part of this community, but to be an active participant in this grand experience of lifes beauty! So grateful to be able to call all of you friends. Aho!
