Hi all! I just wanted to post this link to a local free seminar for healthcare professionals and students about the implementation of Pre-exposure prophylaxis in individuals as a preventative method to prevent HIV infection. Dr. Benson is a local HIV specialist and has been treating individuals with AIDS before they even knew what HIV was and will likely give a fascinating perspective on this cutting edge medication. This drug is already becoming almost as common in gay men as birth control in women, so all nurses would benefit from some baseline knowledge on the subject (you will be asked by a patient at some point about it, or will meet a patient who it should be suggested to).
