Hi all. Im an independent filmmaker and Fight Day is my third feature-length drama. I have personally written, produced, directed, edited and funded all three. My previous film, The Beekeeper, is an award-winner and is available on Amazon Prime. Im a big believer in story and paying actors to deliver that story - something that sets me apart from many indie filmmakers. This campaign is to help Canadian actors get more than just bit parts in films. At the heart of the issue is my belief that up-and-coming actors are caught in a Catch 22 - no experience with meaty roles translates into no meaty roles, and no meaty roles means no experience. With your donations we can help break that cycle. Im seeking $15,000 to help pay the cost of actor fees. This money is not to reimburse me for fees Ive already paid - it is for future productions and I will do everything in my power to get Canadian actors into meaningful roles. I will seek out other indie productions and give them money to hire Canadian actors. In the budget-constrained world of indie filmmaking, this will be a big deal for both the indie producer and the actors.
