Hi all, Im doing some research on an old house that was situated on the current Rheem factory site near to the foreshore, between the Parramatta River, The Vineyard (the houses original namesake) and Subiaco Creeks at Rydalmere. This beautiful old home was unbelievably demolished to make way for the construction of The Rheem facility in 1961, I do know that in its time it was called The Vineyard and was on a grant of approx 2000 acres which I believe held the first known grape vines for wine making in the colony, then over time it was taken over by the Benedictine nuns and renamed Subiaco. Although I have found some magnificent paintings of the house and surrounding property, I cannot find an actual photograph of the house from any stage of its existence. If anyone knows some other information or indeed knows where I could view a photo of the house, could you please let me know via your valued comments, Thanks.
