Hi all Just thought I would share with you a little poem I wrote about my little brother Pete. He will be so embarrassed but never mind. He will get over it :) My Brother Pete by Julie Thomas I have some childhood memories of my little brother Pete. Of him washing dirty kittens and them dangling by their feet. He was a bit of a terror but he would nearly always win because he could charm your socks off with his cheeky little grin. His gumboots on the wrong feet, his curly little locks These are the things I remember when I turn back the clock. His pudgy little body, his buttons done up wrong and then when you were mad at him hed break into a song. Oh, he could sing just like a lark when he was still a lad Hed sing his heart out in the car with me and Mum and Dad. Yes he had some great times making cubbies with his friends or just sitting on the back fence chatting with Paul Renehan. Or what about the time when he was coming home from school He thought hed take a shortcut, the only problem was the bull ! It chased him down so furiously and scared him half to death. He ran so hard I thought hed die and never catch his breath. And when he got to be a teen such adventures did he seek, with his great mate pommy, oh what havoc they did wreak. They drove me to distraction, I felt I would go mad !!! But when I reflect upon it now they really werent so bad. Dont you think it would be nice to go back to when life was still carefree? When the biggest problem that you faced was how to climb that tree. Still in these times of trouble I remember that very cute little boy with his cheeky smile, his golden curls and all that childhood joy. Sometimes it is nice to look back isnt it?? Sorry to embarrass you Pete :)
