Hi all. Mils bf recently bought a brand new, off the lot, 40 ft - TopicsExpress

Hi all. Mils bf recently bought a brand new, off the lot, 40 ft fifth wheel to live in f/t. We live in south TX, where the summer temps exceed 100° F on most days, and index floats around 123. I know its impossible to expect perfection out of an rv cooling system, but when he gets off work the temp inside is usually around mid 80s. Thats with two roof units running full blast, lowest temp, all day. His ac man is replacing one unit with a larger one, and he also recommended insulating the windows on the sunny side. I recommended insulating ALL the windows, and air vents. The rv sits on a lot with no shade, no trees (electric included in lot rent, ha). Hes frustrated to the point of selling it, and has made mention to MIL that he would let us take over payments. What I need to know is there anyway that an rv can operate as a f/t residence in this kind of heat? (We would need to stay local for the time being.) Is there anything that can be done to make the cooling system more efficient? Would it be better for us to look into all-weather RVs to endure these temps? Something with better insulation? Thoughts on adding a third ac? Etc. TIA!
