Hi all, Pete here, just wanted to give you all a heads up that Judy and I will be in the area July 5th to the 13th. Judy and I will both be helping out on the train at various times during that week. I am going to be in need of some help at the shop that week for anyone who may be interested. For those who dont know, in accordance with federal regulations, locomotives are required to have a safety inspection performed every 92 days and #3051 will be due that week. Anyone who may be interested in learning about this process and would like to work on the engine with me is welcome to join me at the Milford engine house starting on Sunday morning, July 6th. I will be working 10 am to about 5 or 6 and it will take us a couple of days to complete the work which we hope to have done before the engine is needed that Thursday. You do not need to have any prior knowledge, I am only too happy to teach those who come to work with me, all you need is a willingness to learn. We supply the hard hats and gloves, old clothes and work boots, preferably with a steel toe is highly recommended, YOU WILL GET DIRTY!!! As time consuming and laborious as the work is, its fun too.
