Hi all. We just got back from the vet, where an extra doctor examined the girl that cant move her head patients x-rays. Not very promising, and we could really use advice, suggestions etc. for the next step. Seems she has had some kind of fracture in the neck region and it has fused back together, but crooked. Both vets say that its risky to go in there and put nails/wires etc. and that it, to 80% wont cure her, but simply stop it from getting worse than it is. The likelihood that it collapses again after surgery, is quite high, meaning she actually will suffocate to death :( Any rapid movement with the head can cause this to happen. The issue is that a lot of time has passed since her injury happened, probably 2-3 weeks or so, meaning the later it is, the harder it will be. The cost is quite high for us,, meaning we have to take in consideration cost vs future/already existing cases. Its never a pleasant topic, nor an easy decision, but a decision HAS to be made. One option could be better care in Canada/USA, but I assume the cost would be way higher than down here, right? We are in a tough spot with her. Please - advices and suggestions??
