Hi all, my names Tristan Field, a guitarist originally from Western Sydney, now up here in Brisbane. My mob are the Yuin and Gadidgal people and I am also Sri Lankan. When I was 15, I used to run a 4-6 slot called the Young, Black and Deadly radio show at Koori Radio in Redfern. Through the years I have worked hard for my music and worked with different bands ad artists such as The Renegades of Munk which I was given a mention amongst some of the great Indigenous talent in this country, such as Naomi Wetitong, Eric Grothe Jr and other names. Some of my highlights include being asked to be on a panel by an internationally recognised musician and poet originally from South Africa, Eugene Skeef, at the World Music Forum that was held in Brisbane discussion the identity of youth and music, with other members on the panel from around the world. So currently Im with my band Mallory Vanetti gigging around Queensland, Melbourne and soon around Australia and internationally. Were known as a Pop Rock sort of band thats unpredictable on stage and a bit quirky, different and new. Weve released our pre release album Domino Effekt and are currently working on the release of our EP Never Look Back. We have also released our music video Perfect Girl. Weve been picked up to be on a compilation cd called Maidens of Metal with Delinquent Records from Alabama USA with our self-titled album track, Domino Effekt. Another highlight was also when Mallory Vanetti were nominated last year at the Australian Independent Music Awards for best Alternative track. So thats kind of myself in a nutshell. I have dreams and aspirations to broaden my music across the world but my goal is always change one person life as a positive at any gig I partake in whether its with the band, myself or any artist I work with. I want to show our youth coming up that you dont need to be contemporary to be successful with music but that music is who we are within, its our culture.
