Hi all sorry its been quiet an uneventful INTERESTING AFTERNOON..... FOUND MY FIRST EVER MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE, I CAN SEE ITS FROM SWITSERLAND!!!! was very happy to find my 1st message BUT 5 mins later I FOUND A SECOND MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE! what are the chances!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 mins after that I then found my 3rd message in a bottle complete with hand carved wooden boat inside! so was this Just down to amazing luck?, was it a sign to me from a greater being to inspire me to carry on in my efforts to push forward with IWBCV? or is it just proof that the amount of plastic debris washing up on the shores of the island is far higher than we realised??? i have not opened any of the bottles yet i know the 1st is from Switzerland, the 2nd was closer to home from sand banks, someone called dave, looks like a business paper or something, maybe a free ticket to his hotel? he included a couple of plactic jewels inside, bit of a cheap skate seeing as he lives in sandbanks. the 3rd is a mystery, it contains a hand carved wooden boat, a letter and i think some printed images of some kind. the temptation to open them is great but my need to promote IWBCV is grater so i think it will make more of a story for the iwcp or local news if i wait for them before opening them. Today i saw far more litter than i would liked to have, i knew much of what is in the area as i get down there at least once a month. i cant get the rubbish off the beach at the moment so any rubbish i find on the tide line i put higher up on the dry mud slips so it wont get washed back into the sea, found some other interesting pieces including a travel bag and most of its contended, clip board complete with pen, a water proof yachty mobile phone case, phone not included. a couple of mystery items and some fishing tackle. also i though my 4th message however something many dog owners including myself are guilty of...finding a bottle putting some stones or in this case shells, stones and twigs in to weight it so we can throw it for our dogs, it would be far better, seeing as we have made the effort to already pick it up to put it in our pocket or bag until we find a bin.
