Hi all thanks for the ad. I just wanted to say that I started off thinking no. Then I someone kindly explained the real financial situation to me. Im a bit of a cynic so I did some research by myself and what I found really made me sit up and think. By listening to the media and many politicians south of the border, especially the ones who get most publicity, I thought, like Im sure many others do, that scotland is poor and we are heavily subsidised by the south. What a surprise when I look at the sums and find that not only are we not subsidised we actually contribute more per head than our English counterparts! Not only that but there is a very big massaging if the figures and a bit of sleight of hand. Scotland has the uks 3 most valuable exports. Now England say that they are our biggest export market but we are currently joined so thats not really an export. And even if it is are they going to stop buying from us if we get independence? I dont think so because that would be childish. Ok so not only are we not subsidised we receive back less that we put in. So that would mean we subsidise them! Now the biggest question I asked myself. Why do they want to keep us if they think we are a liability? Well of course the powers that be know we are not because they are well aware of the sums. But just to reiterate. Dont kid yourself. They only want us for the money we bring in which Westminster takes and redistributes to the south. So here is my question for you. Why would you not want control of your policies and budget? Oh one more thing. The money which we contribute is also used so that the Uk can take us into wars and then justify continued spending on defence. And again dont be misled. We do not need the south to bolster our defences. We would still be under the umbrella of NATO. So basically I thought about it and Im definitely voting yes!
