Hi, can you please post this anon ? I need some guidance please Im lost. How do you deal with bullying? M. (almost 3) has glue ears (op in a week) and her speech and social skills are more like a 20 months old. Today we were at a play-area and there were 4 kids: my two girls (3 and 4) and 2 other siblings. The girls were playing fine until my youngest started to follow the other children and trying to repeat what they were saying. G, my eldest thought it would be a fun game to get the other children to play hide and seek and hide from her younger sister. They called her the baddie and would screech and run away from her. Eventually she stopped and played on her own. I got upset with the behaviour started by my own child and left. I didnt know how to react, Im lost I dont really know what to do any more when I feel like my youngest is being bullied because she cant talk well and lacks social understanding. I do not want my child to grow a victim but she is always the one singled out when meeting other children and I feel like there is an issue. My eldest learnt that behaviour from my best friends children; for a long while there was pushing, hitting, snatching and I had to keep a close eye on my little one but I feel like I cannot fix anything now. Shes my only friend and cutting ties with her (or her children) would mean Id be on my own again (I left france and my family 7 years ago and struggled to socialise for a while) Things like her son refusing to be in the same room as M, and his sister doing the same. Its got to a point where M now avoid them when we meet and plays in a different room whenever they are here. How do I make my eldest understand that what she doing is wrong? When do you know you should intervene or leave children be children. I think Im overprotective of her. How can I help my friends children understand? Im starting to hate them and it hurt. I hope in my heart that things will get better after her operation but what if it doesnt?
