Hi, could not find the topic we were discussing before about ATM fees for withdrawing money in Mexico. I actually did a test and withdrew $100 pesos from the Santander back using my BofA ATM card. I was given a good exchange rate, but that was basically defeated by the 3% charge they gave me for an international transaction. I called my bank to complain and they said that there is no way to get that fee waived and that EVERY person gets charged that. I remember someone saying they were not charged so maybe they are not looking in the right place? Or did I ask the bank the wrong question? I asked if it had to do with the type of account, the balance in account, length of service, etc, and he said nope. It came out as a bank charge in my statement and it showed up 24 hrs after the withdrawal. Does anyone have more info as to how I can avoid this charge? Thanks
