Hope everyones well especially after that awesome speech from The Pres himself at uni wooooo 😂👌 Following the email in which we were deemed official in the union, we are required to hold an inaugural general meeting or IGM where 30 people must sign & vote for the groups president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and other roles the group will have. The details are below: What: UQ South Pacific Islander Association IGM When: Tuesday 18th November Time: 3pm-4.30pm Where: The Clubs and Societies Room (tbc) Who: Everyone in UQSPIA (at least 30 people need to be present to vote/witness position allocation) What are the positions to be filled on this day: - President - Vice-president - Secretary - Treasurer - Students Officer/Club Advocate - Social Events Team (this will include positions for a sports coordinator, entertainment/cultural coordinator and on-campus events coordinator) - Pastoral Care Team - Promotions/Publicity Team (social media, marketing etc.) - Academic/Study Team - Fundraising/Sponsorship Team The role descriptions will be uploaded later tonight for everyone to get a better idea of what these entail :) it does seem like a LOT but for anything to flourish, it needs to be built on a strong foundation and we can do exactly that. This group has so much potential in so many areas in which our group can grow and one of them is definitely leadership ✊☺️ If you feel like one of these positions are for you, please message Kimri or myself with your expressions of interest.
