Hi everybody, I took my dog Toby ( Corgi, 39 pounds) to the vet - TopicsExpress

Hi everybody, I took my dog Toby ( Corgi, 39 pounds) to the vet again today to recheck his lytes.Todays results are on the right, last Thursdays results on the left.Today is day 30 since Tobys last shot of Percorten of 0.8 and he is still on 2mg/day of Prednisone which I will slowly reduce after his next shot. Here are my questions: 1) His NA/K ratio is 28 ( last week it was 41), his K is at 5.4 compared to 3.4 last week Does he need a shot now and if so at what dosage? From what I have learned his NA/K ratio should be around 32 or 33 to receive a new shot, his is below that now. 2) His K is at 5.4 and as far as I know the Percorten should get reduced if it is below 4.7 and 4.9. Does this mean that he needs an increase of Percorten by 10% instead of a reduction? The vet told me that he needs a shot today and that I should recheck the lytes one month from today. She told me to reduce his Prednisone down to 1.5mg from 2mg. I need your input please. So again , today is day 30 and my gut feeling tells me that he needs an increase of Percorten by 10% He is on 0.8mg Percorten ( so that increase would bring it up to 0.88/0.9) Am I correct in my assumptions? Thank you for your greatly appreciated help in advance
