Hi everyone. Duke and I could use some advice. He is becoming increasingly aggressive towards other dogs in our building, and I am afraid of what could happen. Hes not a fan of strangers when we are in our apartment building or on the grounds where I take him out. I suspect it is because he views the whole area as his and thinks he is just protecting his turf. When we visit my parents, he is just fine with their dogs, and doesnt care at all about the neighbors dogs. When I walk him around our neighborhood here in the city, hes fine once we get a block or so away from the building. In the building, he goes into attack mode when he sees another dog. Thankfully he is a smaller Bassy, so I can easily grab the back of his harness. I do my best to avoid the situations by walking him at times other people and dogs are likely to be around. When my lease is up next year, I plan on moving out of the building and moving somewhere with little to no shared space like our building has. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do in the meantime? I can easily restrain him, but Im terrified of something happening, someone complaining to management, or the worst case, losing my boy. I will not do any sort of shock collar, hitting, anything like that. I dont believe in it. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
