Hi everyone! Im just hijacking this thread for a post to remind you all to nominate someone for the Derek Forster Award for Outstanding Commitment to HUSSO. This is to nominate an individual or a project that you feel deserves recognition for their effort this year across HUSSO. This can be anyone from a fellow volunteer, Project Co-Ordinator or Area Co-Ordinator. The link to the nomination form is hullstudent/huu-awards/nominate and voting closes on April 2nd (Next Wednesday) so get your votes in please because our awards part of the HUU Awards is dwindling and I think you can all agree that the fantastic work that goes on within HUSSO must be rewarded. In other news, Im planning a trip to Flamingo Land (a local theme park) for the children and volunteers across all three project for a weekend in May. Whos interested in attending and if so what weekends are you available? There is a maximum of around 50 on the coach, and obviously we will be taking all of the children so its best to register your interest/dates soon! Lastly, I would like to congratulate and welcome my successor to the Kids Area Throne, Bill Hunter. Hes done a fantastic job coming in as a newbie to be Saturday Larkin Project Co-Ordinator at the beginning of the year and I have all the confidence that he will do a fantastic job next year and those who are still with the HUSSO Kids Area for next year will be in good hands.
