Hi everyone! Im new here, too. This is my second term with two classes, Creative Writing and History I. Im in the bachelors English/creative writing program. Im not sure what category of student I fall into -- Im married, medically retired due to breast cancer and at 54 years old I almost feel silly doing this. But, Im thoroughly enjoying all aspects of it and feel this is where I need to be at this point in life. I have an odd question to throw out to anyone who dares to answer if theyve had a similar experience as me. You know how the rubrics in all classes say to post responses to two classmates, and not to pick favorites or not-so-favorites, just pick the first two that dont have responses? Well, three classes into this and Im starting to get a complex because it seems like Im avoided like the plague. I actually had to email my professor in the first-ever online class I took and bring it to her attention. She blasted an email to the class in red type reminding them of the requirements. I mentioned it to my creative writing professor this term; she didnt do much about it. Im not imagining things because I can see my posts are looked at, just not responded to. And if you look down the discussion boards right side at the tallies for everyone, Im the only one with maybe three comments -- from my professors and me. I doesnt bother me; Im not in this for a popularity contest. I just find it really bizarre. Someone said to me -- and these are their words, not mine -- that my writing is much more sophisticated than theirs at this point and they are intimidated by me. Any comments or recommendations are appreciated. Thanks all and nice to meet you.
