Hi everyone! Its been far too long since the last update so Ill keep the chit chat down...Heres whats been happening: First and foremost, a very special long overdue thank you to Charlene Martel for every thing that she has done to help this fund get started. Words can not express the sincere appreciation that I have for you and for what you stand for. My belief is that without your passion and guidance, we wouldnt be where we are today. Thank you so much! When Charlene stepped down from her positions, we were fortunate to have Michelle Smedick step up to the position of the Fundraising Chair. Michelle has already jumped in with both feet running to be sure that the FTLOJ fund is at this coming Thursdays event in Torrington at the Main Street Market Place. We will be there and ask for as many of you to come along as possible! Also happening this Thursday is the drawing for the dinner raffle! Perhaps Charlene can make it for 7PM to draw the winner? Michelle has prepared several dog and cat baskets for a raffle on Thursday as well, tickets will be sold only at the event! Bracelets will also be available. The following folks still have the dinner raffle tickets and need to get them turned in either on Wednesday evening, or by 6 PM on Thursday at the event in Torrington: Charlene Martel # 1-2 and 13-25 Jenny Swanson # 26-36 Dean Martel # 37-50 Linda Ganem # 53-62 Michelle Smedick # 77-85 Les Archer # 86-111 Sherrie Gioa # 112-142. Please make arrangements to return all tickets and/or money on Wednesday 07/16/14, or at the function on Thursday evening at or before 6 PM. Sometime shortly after this Thursdays event, we will plan the next committee meeting. We talked last time about changing meeting nights from Thursday evening to another. What works best for you? Please let me know. Board meetings will be held separately from the regular committee meeting nights so that the time can be used in a more productive way. After months of setbacks on the tax exempt status, we are only slightly closer. I have been talking with the IRS (NOT FUN!) quite a bit and the only update is that there is no update. The bank Manager at TD Bank (Donna September) is back at work and doing well after a long fight with cancer. She was giving me guidance on Friday and has a new plan that she feels will get through the system rather quickly. Keep your fingers and toes crossed!
