Hi everyone, Ive compiled a list of sources that might be useful for your assigned neighborhoods: ICSC.org - International Council of Shopping Centres - It costs $50 for a year long student membership. It largely contains sales data an other things about major shopping centers throughout the lower mainland and Canada. You could potentially use some of the data to make an argument about the temperature of the neighborhoods economy to use as a fuel or wildcard factor. It may not be the most useful source this semester, but it could definitely come in hand next semester for retail data; may as well get as much use as possible out of that year long membership https://cmhc-schl.gc.ca/en/co/buho/ - Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation - for obvious reasons this place has a ton of data on various housing markets. Definitely check this one out. reincanada/ - Real Estate Investment Network - Interesting source of information, particularly check out the investment report, and the transportation report. Should have information about how transportation is effecting the Greater Vancouver housing market (fuel) Commercialedge.ca - Commercial Sales Database and Research - Its a paid service, but there are a couple of free reports, and if your creative you can probably analyze and make some points about the flow of multifamily. Only licensed brokers have access to this site, if you know someone, couldnt hurt to see if theyre willing to help you out; should also be useful for next semester. udi.bc.ca/news-central - UDI - info about local development, somewhat limited, but might be a good place to get a little more info about whats going on in the lower mainland. realpac.ca - Real property association of Canada - poke around, theyve got some interesting information of the real estate impact on the Canadian economy, as well as Canada Annual property index. Could probably find some pretty useful macro information realnet.ca - Site that holds records for a large portion of commercial RE sales that occur in the lower mainland. They also have market reports about the various asset classes. Its a paid service site that can only be purchased by licensed brokerage houses. Again, if you know someone in the industry this will be a really useful one for next semester. mpcintelligence.ca/home - Really useful site, need to pay for membership. Doesnt have price listed. Theyve got some unreal residential real estate information, listing a large portion of multifamily properties that have gone up, are up, and are going up. It also includes the pricing and vacancy rate of each condo/apartment building. It has a market overview that could point you in some interesting directions. If you can find someone with access, definitely go for it. If you cant find someone with information, subscription is free, you dont get charged until you talk to someone or buy something after you log in. Probably worth checking out. Also check out there free in recent news section. Good Luck! If you have any questions, message me; Im not sure how much help Ill be, but we can try figure it out.
