Hi everyone. Please help us spread the word that Meliss Gilbert had an accident yesterday and broke her ankle - here is a letter from her and a pic of her foot (ouch!): Dear Friends of Jacob’s Heart, I am so so sad to tell you that I will not be able to join you for breakfast on Friday. I fell down the stairs in my house today and tore several ligaments in my right ankle. The ER doctor and my orthopedic surgeon (who I am seeing tomorrow) have both told me that I cannot fly and will be out of commission for several weeks. As I type this I am home with my leg in a brace propped up and iced. My crutches at the ready. But, I promise that as soon as I am able, I will be there. I am so looking forward to meeting all of you. My sweet friends, I am so very honored to accept your invitation to join Jacob’s Heart as both an Advisory Board member and Spokesperson. Im thrilled to be even the tiniest part of this extraordinary organization. Im just so inspired by the meaningful family-centered support services Jacob’s Heart provides. I cannot wait until we are all gathered together to take that first step in our collective journey as we serve all of those dear children with cancer and the families who love them.
