Hi everyone Scott & I will put together a final draft of a petition that outlines the issues experienced by registered participants of the Jeep Australia remote dealership promotion. I want to be clear about the purpose of this petition and its intended outcomes. Whilst we are all a little confused, frustrated and to some degree angry that this promotion appears to have at best been extremely poorly managed. We also need to be realistic about what we hope to achieve. The main points here are that the Australian consumer is sick of being led down the garden path with misleading or outright false claims in regard to products and the marketing / advertising attached to them. This particular promotion may simply be the straw that broke the camels back? The background behind why the petition has been started will be the Jeep Australia promotion as an example. This will outline the anomalies, discrepancies, technical glitches, lack of clear or accurate communication with consumers and lack of transparency associated with this promotion. The hoped outcome should include 1) an apology from Jeep Australia 2) acknowledgement that the promotion was flawed and the integrity of the promotion compromised to such an extent it should be declared null and void. 3) and (possibly if there is a general concensus?) That as a sign of good faith on Jeep Australias part they donate the cost of 10 vehicles or give 10 vehicles to a charity or charities agreed upon by the group (if this an agreed point we can easily put forward suggestions and most number for any one charity be suggested....possibly keep it relevant...victims of road accidents rehabilitation or something similar???). This demonstrates that we are not a bunch of sore losers as some have claimed, nor do we want anything for nothing. It cements the integrity of this group unlike what Jeep have demonstrated. It shows that we are a group of Australians that believe in fairness and equity for all and that we want our producers / manufacturers / marketers and advertisers to play by the rules and be transparent and honest when things do go arie. This may not be what most of you would like to happen, however as I said we have to be realistic.....As far as I know legally no one actually suffered any loss financial or otherwise....except the opportunity to purchase a vehicle as advertised by Jeep Australia due to their apparent inability to run a promotion that maintained its integrity and therefore did not afford participants the opportunity they promised they (the participants) would have? Please note I am not a lawyer and this purely my opinion. I would like to add (and I think Scott agrees), non constructive, abusive or inflammatory remarks should not be tolerated on this site and removed as soon as we are made aware of them. It only detracts from the issue at hand and is completely unecessary. Comments of that ilk have a detrimental affect on the cause we all joined to support. I am hoping to have something for you all to read by the end of the day, but cant guarantee it (it may be tomorrow). Sorry but believe it or not Scott & I do actually have other responsibilities aside from this .....like the rest of you I am sure (jobs, houses to run, kids...A life etc...) :) please be patient and I promise I will do my very best to assist as best I can. All constructive suggestions welcome. ...more than welcome!! Lets see if as a group with a shared voice, we the little guys can get the big guys to be held accountable for their actions..or lack of? :)
