Hi everyone! So Im the current President of Alpha Sigma Tau and I - TopicsExpress

Hi everyone! So Im the current President of Alpha Sigma Tau and I just want to share with you all a little bit about my Greek life experience. When I joined college, I always knew I wanted to get involved on campus in some way. Ive always been outgoing and enjoyed meeting new people. With that said, I never expected to join a sorority. Coming into college, I always thought sororities arent for me, isnt that like paying for friends?, sororities are for girls with drama, and I dont want to be hazed to become friends with people. But my second semester of freshman year, I still hadnt really found my place in college and hadnt gotten as involved as I wanted to. Then I met Cali Manzello who I became fast friends with and she asked me to come out to recruitment. I was extended a bid and the rest is history. So here are some facts about my greek life experience: 1. I was NEVER hazed. Instead I built relationships with many sisters and learned a lot about myself and the difference I could make by being the philanthropy chair of my new member class. 2. I didnt pay for my friends. I paid for my badge, and tshirts, and opportunities. I made friends all on my own. 3. I experienced less drama the semester I joined AST than I did my first semester of college. Instead I gained sisters who stood behind me and made me a better person. 4. Sororities ARE for me. AST has given me a home away from home. It has encouraged my academic and personal growth. It is given me a family at college. And it has always picked me up when Ive been down. Sororities may not be for everyone, but I would have never known if I didnt go to recruitment. Please come out and meet our chapter and find out if AST is your home too
