Hi everyone! This is a bit of a long post, but since people have been asking I am hoping it is worth the read. First of all, I want to sincerely thank you for allowing me to post things such as this here; it is a great way for me to be able to stay connected with all of you as well as share with you in the most effective way possible. I am extremely grateful and appreciate you all very much :) In this post, I wanted to share some new information as well as some links concerning my new book Quantum Creation. I also wanted to share some recent developments concerning my recovery from surgery, which is the last thing discussed in this post. Your prayers really do make a difference and have been helping immensely. My physical therapist told me she was really surprised by how fast I am recovering so far. Every day I am able to do more and feel stronger than the day before. God certainly has His healing hand upon me, and I cant thank you all enough for keeping me in prayer. Also, thank you for praying for financial provisions and access to the required medical equipment that we cant even begin to afford. My grandparents were able to find a walker for me that is the right size and, honestly, I cant even begin to tell you how much easier that has made everything. Today has certainly been a day of blessings. We still have a long ways to go, especially concerning finances, but God working continually through the amazing generosity of others has given us a leg up (pun halfway intended :) ) and there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. Praise God! For those of you who this might be completely new to, here is the basic situation. I have a rare bone disease (literally one in a million) in my right hip, knee, and ankle which causes abnormal bone growths and degeneration. This is what cause me to need a hip replacement. I actually wrote an entire blog post about it, which can be found here - joshpeckdisclosure.blogspot/2014/06/trevors-disease-total-hip-replacement.html Once I came back home from the hospital, I wrote this post: Hi everyone. I just wanted to give you an update and present a prayer request. For those who may not be aware, I have a bone disease called Trevors Disease which, among other things, causes abnormal bone growth. I wrote an entire blog post about it at ministudyministry. I just undergone total hip replacement surgery because of what the disease did to my hip. The disease caused my right socket to fill in completely with extra bone and even caused the bones to become soft. The surgeon said that once he got in there, he noticed floating bone fragments all around my hip and socket. Because of the extent of the damage, this wasnt a usual hip replacement surgery. They had to cut out all of the extra bone to basically reconstruct a socket for me. They had to cut out so much bone and do so many extra things, in fact, that they informed me I had lost a lot of blood during the surgery. But, thanks be to God, the surgery was a success and I came out of it as they expected. They told me that because of all of the extra work and the uniqueness of the situation, recovery time would be a lot longer than usual. I will need to use a walker for at least three months, and I am at high risk for dislocations. They said that I cant bend my hip more than ninety degrees or it will dislocate. This means there are a lot of restrictions as to where I can sit and things like that, especially given the fact I am over six feet tall. The only suitable place i can physically sit in my house without drastically maximizing risk of dislocating is my bed, at last until we can afford to get a stable chair with arms that is high and wide enough. Also, it turns out insurance will not cover as much as I was hoping. They sent me home with a walker that is built for someone a foot shorter than me and half my weight, which is quite challenging to get around with. I was informed that was all insurance would cover for my at home treatment. All of the other things, including a raised toilet seat, shower chair, etc., I will have to purchase on my own, which as Im sure anyone reading is aware, medical equipment is horrendously overpriced and we are nowhere close to being able to afford these things. On top of that, we still have not been able to afford insurance for our car, meaning we cant renew our tags, and our laptop just stopped working all together, meaning we will have to pay for repairs on that as well, and in the meantime I will be doing everything from my nook, which is a bit of a nightmare in itself. Alright, so now for the good news My brother Cody has been gracious enough to stay with us to help during my recovery. He is great with the kids, the kids both love him, and he takes great care of them. I am extremely blessed to have a brother like him. My wife has been so absolutely amazing in taking care of me through this process. I just got home yesterday, today is my first full day at home. I also have had so many of you out there who have messaged me with prayers and encouragement, I cannot express into words how much that really means to me and my family. I have a lot more to say and report, but I am quite exhausted at the moment. Thank you all so much for everything, and please continue to pray for healing, fast recovery, and that our mountain of financial problems will be taken care of. Shortly after, I had received questions from people as to where and how they can help, so I posted this: I put this up before, but for those asking, I wanted to do so with a bit more information. I am so incredibly blessed by all of the people who have offered prayers and support throughout this situation. I have been getting a lot of questions as to where people can go to help financially, and strictly in response to those questions, I am providing the link here. I figure this will be much easier than responding to everyone individually. This is by no means, absolutely not at all, a solicitation for donations. This is only providing information to those who wish to have it. There is absolutely no obligation whatsoever. I will never promise blessings or anything like that for your donations, that is all up to God and I wont make promises on His behalf. You wont even be able to claim these on your taxes so, believe me, if you are unable or do not feel led to give financially, I totally understand. After some really good online conversations with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, I decided it would be a good idea to at least provide the option for those who wish to contribute in this way, not only for me, but for my wife and children as well. All donations to Ministudy Ministry will go toward the mountain of medical bills as well as getting car insurance and renewed tags so we can take our kids to their doctor appointments without fear of the trouble that can come from driving illegally. We will also be making sure we maintain a roof over our heads and food in the house. A few very wise and like-minded brethren convinced me last night to be more open about our financial situation, and there it is. Im not going to lie, it is pretty dismal, BUT, I know I am not the only one in this situation, I know there are far more out there in worse situations than mine, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that God will bring us through this somehow. So please please please, I cannot stress this enough, do not give unless God is directly leading you to do so. Do not drain your bank account over this. Do not sacrifice things you need for you and your family to help us out. God can provide the money one way or another, He can have it miraculously appear in our bank account if He wants to, so please dont feel like this is something you absolutely must do. Again, this is not a solicitation for donations, this is only me providing information for those who may want it. If you are unable or do not feel led to give financially, we can always use more prayers. Honestly, I am up and getting around way better today than I was yesterday and I know its because of the many people joining in agreement together to pray on my behalf.
