Hi everyone, This is to announce the OKstate Dev Club, which is a subgroup of the ACM student chapter. This semester, we will be concentrating on making demos. A demo, as defined by the demoscene, is a short movie that is generated in real-time, and often constrained to be a very small executable (such as 4k or 64k). For example, the demo elevated was generated by a 4k program: https://youtube/watch?v=jB0vBmiTr6o OKState Dev Club Fall, 2014 The tentative schedule for Dev Club for the rest of the semester, starting next Monday is given below. We will meet on Mondays at 7:00 in MSCS 203W (or 222). The thrust will be to have everyone complete a simple, short demo by the end of the semester. For the first two weeks, I will give two lectures that I gave several years ago about a program called SmallPT, which is a tiny software-based path tracer. This isnt a real-time demo, but shares a lot of the same ethos as demoscene (cool graphics stuff in a small space).
