Hi everyone my name is Karen , and I have a brother with downes syndrome , who has been in Stockton centre for about 35Yrs , I share the worries and frustrations of everyone here. Im not just just campaigning for him but all those who have no voice. It is quite obvious to me, that their will be no improvement in quality of life for him in the private sector, at the moment he has everything he needs and wants, and is involved in an array of outside community activities, in short he is happy . I absolutely resent other people telling me what he needs and what will make him happy, and also that we are bad people for keeping him there. I love him dearly and Im distressed that this impending closure is even an issue, and to say that they are doing this for the benefit of those in there, is just condescending and an insult to my intelligence.
