Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join your group. Just a quick - TopicsExpress

Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join your group. Just a quick little bit about me, and then a couple of questions. I have been interested in the tiny home movement and living simply for the last 4 years. I am self employed as a building designer and can work from just about anywhere I can plug in a laptop. I just recently fell in love with the idea of living aboard, after spending time on my uncles 20 sloop this summer and learning a few things on the water. My plan is to spend the next 2 years preparing to make the transition from land dweller to ocean dweller, and since I have already sold most of my belongings to live in an 8x12 cabin, I feel I am already half way there. The biggest challenge is to save some money for a boat. Im planning to budget around $10,000 for my first rig, and want something between 24-30. So question one; considering that I buy a boat that is in fair working order and is seaworthy, how much money should I be prepared to put into it to make it liveable? (I know, kind of a broad question, but any input will be appreciated.) I have a friend who owns a sailboat that he restored himself, so I will probably be asking him for a lot of help and time on the water to learn the ropes (or sheets.) Thanks!
