Hi everyone we are very keen to visit Kgalagadi from SA side. However we just read a very negative article Nightmare at Kgalagadi published in the magazine Leisure Wheels, August 2014 edition. It was written by Wayne Jacobs. The author claims that his bookings over Easter time were paid on website Botswana side but could not be found upon his arrival at Twee Rivieren and Nossob. He had to pay additional fees. The roads were appalling and there was a sewerage spilling problem at Twee Rivieren. He also paid and received confirmation to stay at Swartbas camp but was told upon arrival that it is not a camping site but just meeting place. He seems to be disgusted by the admin and says this park is the worst, most unkempt, disgusting reserve in Southern Africa. I belief that one should experience it and make up your own mind. I dont expect paradise but a wildlife experience. But the paying and receiving of confirmation and then arriving and no trace of your payment is a concern. Any of you have similar experience? Although I am not discouraged to visit the park I am curios to know whether this was an exception rather than the rule. Thanks!
