Hi fellow Mommies! One of our own really needs some help right - TopicsExpress

Hi fellow Mommies! One of our own really needs some help right now. Ive discussed this with Kiera Piket and I have her permission to post this. She and I both personally know the Mom Im writing about. This single mom has had a rough go the past few years. Her father, who was also her best friend and the only positive male role model her children had, passed away suddenly. Her mother moved away from town to deal with her own grief. So in effect, they were now dealing with the loss of both of her parents (and the childrens grandparents). The children have been dealing with anxiety since the loss and she put her own grief on hold to help them. Just before Christmas, she discovered that her mom is being treated for cancer. Through all of this, she managed to continue working and scraping things together to support her children. Now, as a result, she is understandably dealing with some emotional issues and some recently diagnosed health ones as well. Unfortunately, this has left her unable to work and she has no income coming in for the time being. She has applied for short-term disability through her employer, but it took a while to get the paperwork completed and it will probably be a few more weeks before she sees a cheque. In the meantime, as of February 1 she will be two months behind on her rent and facing immediate eviction. Her rent is $550 per month, so the total is $1,100. If she is able to scrape together Januarys rent ($550) in time, her landlord will put her on a payment plan and she should be able to keep her place. If not, she and her children will be kicked out. On top of this, she has no money left to put food on the table and is struggling to figure out where the next meal is going to come from. She also has no money to fill the prescriptions she needs to start getting her own health back on track. This Mom is an incredibly loving and giving person who would do anything and everything she could to help someone in need, even though she herself struggles. She has fallen on some hard times and is trying to make the best of a bad situation. I would do anything I could to help her out, but I dont have that kind of money just sitting around. I was hoping that if we all pitched in we would be able to come up with enough money to keep her roof over her head and put some food in her childrens tummies. Kiera and I are both able to accept donations on her behalf. I know its sometimes easier to make a food donation, but cash is crucial at this time. Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help!! This is the post - If you can help, please do so.
