Hi folks, Over the last few months I have reached out to cycling clubs, triathlon clubs, athletic clubs, rowing clubs, golf clubs and Community centres. Now I would like to follow up to remind you all, its only a short few weeks to the start of our fourteen day cycle around the island of Ireland, which will raise awareness of the considerable help and support that are available for anyone battling depression, self harm, at risk of suicide or those bereaved by suicide. We at Cycle Against Suicide would love your help to spread this very important message. They are many ways in which you can be a part of the Cycle Against Suicide community. You might like to dust off that old bike and join us on the cycle, help us by joining our Homestays team and providing a bed or two for our cyclists on our overnight stay in your town, make some sandwiches or help with the tea and soups, help with bootcamps in your area. The list goes on and on. Did you know that many people who contemplate suicide are convinced that their feelings of despair are unique and that they are alone in their torment? The fact is, though, that there are countless people hurting like this all around the world today and everyday. Cycle Against Suicide is aimed at letting people know that its ok not to feel ok and its absolutely ok to ask for help. We are determined to break the stigma that prevents people from reaching out and asking for help. Please see the attached brochure with details on how you can get involved with this wonderful community and help us to get the message out there that; “Its ok not to feel ok and its absolutely ok to ask for help,” and “Together shoulder to shoulder we can break the cycle of suicide on the island of Ireland.” Kind regards, Dermot Wheatman, Cycling Clubs Liaison Officer Cycle Against Suicide Break The Cycle Phone: +353 66 71 44 600 Website: cycleagainstsuicide
