Hi friends/fellow musicians. Stephen Riley is a one of a kind musician. For those who havent heard him play Ill take a shot at describing what youll hear tonight at the Hat City Kitchen gig. Try to imagine the big sound of say Ben Webster with the swing feel of Dukes Paul Gonzalves paired with the modern harmony of Wayne Shorter. Stephen is developing a following at every concert & master class he performs. There is no one like him on the music scene today. Hes been in the studio this week recording with rising piano star Aaron Diehl. Prior to this he spent his summer touring Europe and performing with the living legend Marcus Roberts. Tonight Stephen will be accompanied by Matt Chertkoff-guitar, Thomson Kneeland-bass & Jonathan Riley-drums.
