Hi guys, Bespoke Cycling is expanding fast and I really need to find new fitters to train up ahead of open two new stores. Can you share the following with anyone that either has fitting experience and looking to progress their career or has racing/mechanics/cycling industry experience and is interested in training and becoming a bike fitter. Job Title: Bike Fitter Reporting to: Head of Performance Lab and Company Directors Job Purpose: Improve cyclists comfort and performance by adjusting bike contact points, prescribing corrective exercise and advising on future bike and component purchases. Salary: Starting salary between £18-2400 dependant on the applicants experience and qualifications Salary review after an initial 6 month period. Principle Accountabilities: Bike Fitting: Responsible for assessment of client’s biomechanics on and off the bike through a detailed movement screen and measurement of cycling posture and movement with a Retül 3-dimension motion tracking system. Adjustments then made to clients shoes, cleats, footbeds and bicycle contact points to improve functional alignment, decrease stress on joints, increase comfort and power. Referrals for Corrective Exercise and Injury Treatment: Work within a team of physical therapists to identify potential muscular imbalances and refer clients for corrective exercise to release muscular restrictions, strengthen weak muscles, improve muscular activation, alter pedalling mechanics and improve cycling posture and control. Bike and Component Sales: Advise customers on the purchase of new bikes, shoes and cycling components base on the information gained from the fitting which will improve their riding experience. Customer Enquires: Answer customer enquiries regarding all aspects for the fitting and sales process via email, phone and face to face meetings. Other Responsibilities: Assist shop floor staff during busy periods and attend out of shop presentations, events and trade shows. Education/Experience/Skills: Education: Preferred: A level or above knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics (e.g. A Level biology, Degree in Physical Therapy, Sports Science, Biomechanics etc.) . Certified bike fitting qualification/certificate. Certified personal training or strength and conditioning qualification. Minimum: GSCE English and Maths. Knowledge and Experience: Preferred: High level competitive cycling or triathlon experience. Previous work experience in a cycling retail environment. In depth knowledge of current performance cycling equipment. Ability to prescribe exercise and stretches. Minimum: Have an interest in cycling and currently ride for leisure and fitness. Skills: Preferred: A recognised bike mechanics qualification. Minimum: Competent bike mechanic skills (ability to change stems, bars, saddles etc). Confident in selling product and finding solutions in customer service environment. Attributes and Behaviour: Minimum: Confident personality with ability to independently engage with people in conversation and ask correct questions to identify customers needs. Outgoing enthusiastic personality. Flexible and willing pitch in and help with all aspects of shop running where needed.
